Family Law

Relationships are at the heart of most people’s lives. Our team of compassionate family lawyers understands that when they break down, it can be hard. They are there to help you negotiate the difficulties that can come with family disputes and to stand up for your interests so that your voice is heard.

Divorce

The breakdown of a relationship or a marriage can be a very distressing time. Couples are faced with hard decisions about who the children will live with, how much time will they spend with the other parent and how the family assets will be divided to meet the needs of two separate households. We can help you through the complexities of the process so that you feel supported every step of the way.

Division of Matrimonial Assets

Disputes over financial assets can be bitter and prolonged. It is always preferable that you and your former spouse reach an agreement between yourselves, as going through the courts is expensive and time consuming and may affect the interests of your children. We can assist you at each stage of the process whether it is to negotiate an agreement on your behalf, finalise an agreement or represent you at court proceedings if parties have not come to an agreement.

Domestic Violence

When there is domestic abuse in a relationship, you are often left with no option but to seek orders which will protect you and will exclude the perpetrator of the domestic abuse from the family home. You can count on us, even outside of office hours, to help you use the law to secure protection.

You may also find yourself accused of such behaviour, in which case we can help you by providing you with advice about what your rights are and help you in defending yourself.

Parenting Agreements & Child Arrangement Orders

Once you become a parent, your life revolves around your children. Everyone wants what is best for them. But when a family breaks down, reaching agreement about what is in your children’s best interests can often be the hardest part. We can help you by ensuring that your voice is heard and that your rights, including your rights of contact, are enforced.

We can also assist with emergency orders, such as orders preventing one parent from removing the children from the other parent’s care or the jurisdiction of England and Wales or relocating within the UK without the other parent’s consent, removing the children from a particular school and any other emergency orders necessary to protect your child’s wellbeing.
