What do you do at the Elaahi & Co?
I am a family law specialist. I have a great deal of experience in divorce & financial matters. I also have years of experience working on matters involving vulnerable parties, including in obtaining or defending emergency orders in cases concerning children, victims of domestic violence or parties accused of domestic violence, for years. I conduct my own advocacy for certain hearings and I work closely with a team of talented barristers in contested matters.   

What drives you to do what you do? 
I am passionate about my work. Nothing feels better than getting a successful outcome for my clients.

How have you kept up that passion for the job?
I have diversified what I do. For example, in 2011, I took an interest in disputes related to freehold property, in particular disputes related to service charges. I represent my clients at the First-Tier (Property Chamber – Residential Property) Tribunal for such matters.  

I also try to bring my outside interests to bear on what I do at work. For example, I am fond of architecture & design and my interest and knowledge in this area has benefited my clients when it comes to property disputes. 

Why Elaahi & Co?
Being a working parent means that I have to find a balance between my work and my family. Elaahi & Co lets me do that. When I’m at work, I give my all as a lawyer and when I’m at home, I give my all as a mum. 

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I’m an avid reader. I’m also guilty of binge-watching box sets on Netflix in my spare time, but who isn’t?
